Also known as Business Expense Insurance, this is an insurance policy which pays the insured’s business overhead expenses if s/he becomes disabled. A BOE policy pays a monthly benefit based on documented expenses (not anticipated profits). It is typically designed for businesses that rely on a small number of people (or one person) to produce revenue, where an injury or disability greatly damages the revenue of the company.
